HOW TO USE YOUR NATIONAL ID CARD TO MAKE CASH WITHDRAWAL IN ANY BANK AND ANY COUNTRY
IMPORTANT NOTE
Incase you dont know,the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is responsible for issuing out National ID Cards for Nigerians.
It was established by the NIMC act No. 23 of 2007, the NIMC has mandate to establish, own, operate, maintain and manage the National Identity
Database in Nigeria, register persons covered by the Act assign a Unique National Identification Number (NIN) and issue General Multipurpose Cards (GMPC) to them.
30% Nigerians have successfully received their National ID Cards, however, only few persons care more about the said ID Card.
the ID Card looks more like an ATM Card, and in reality, it's designed a master Card which can be used worldwide to withdraw money from any ATM, irrespective of the country you presently are.
In addition, the Nigeria Government has also said that National ID Card may be used as Visa acceptable by some countries. But that is a topic for another day as I will be discussing on the use of the said National ID Cards as ATM Cards, that's is how it will be used to make cash withdrawal from any bank and in any country.
Access Bank of Nigeria is sole bank currently powering the National ID Card.
Below are steps on how to load your National ID Card (MasterCard)
1• Visit any Access Bank branch with your Card
2• Complete a deposit slip with the required information
3• Your Card will be credited instantly with the of cash paid
For cash payment where liquid cash is not available
1• Visit any Access Bank branch with your card
2• Ensure to have the 16 digit of your card number or information
3• Complete a deposit slip with the required information
4• The Card will be credited with the value of cash paid
Before funding you Master Card, you need to activate it the same way you activated your normal ATM Cards issued to you from your respective banks
But just in case you have not done that yet and you wish to, you can follow the steps below on how to do so;
1• First and foremost, activate your Card by selecting a 4 digit PIN using POS terminal at the NIMC center or Access Bank Branch
2• Next, proceed to any Access Bank ATM port and insert your Card
3• Goto the PIN change menu the select I-PIN on the display.
4• Select any 4 digits PIN of your choice and confirm on the ATM
5• A "PIN Change Successful" message will be displayed
6• When shopping online and MasterCard Secure Code is required, please provide the 4 digits I-PIN that you choose during PIN change.
